Book Review
If you are looking for an easy to read book that is also quite entertaining, "Lord of the Flies" is the book for you. This book is described with great detail and it truly makes you feel the ups and downs in the book. In my opinion this is the most exciting books I've read this summer. The characters are made up of different elements in the book, meaning the characters have different attributes. Some of the characters are timid and scared. The characters are important because they are all trying to do one thing, survive in the dangerous jungle. The way the author tries to grab your attention is by describing each moment in the book is by metaphors and concrete details. William Golding makes "Lord of the Flies" a easy to read book. I suggest you read this book because it is very entertaining and easy to read. If you are needing some action in your life this is the book to read.

Figurative language
Simile: " sleep envolped him like the swathering mirages..." What this simile means is he was so tired that he couldn't resist the urge to sleep.
Metaphor: " The maze of the darkness sorted into near and far, and at the high point of the sky the cloudlets were warmed with color" page 99
What this metaphor means is it was all dark and cloudy and there was no light and then looking up at the sky the top of the cloud started to open up. And what came out through the cloud was bundles of light filling up the land.
Personification: " Eyes shining, mouths open, triumphant, they savored the right for domination" page 29
What this example of personification is describing is how happy the boys are when surviving the struggle that they were going through.
The purpose of figurative language is to make what you are reading more interesting, exciting, and even sad. Without figurative language books wouldn't be interesting. Figurative language also helps you understand certain quotes that are in the book.
With figurative language it helps me comprehend the information given at hand. Without it I would have no idea with what I am reading.

Round character
In the book, "Lord of the Flies" the flat character in the book is Piggy. He is the flat character in the book because he critizies Ralph on his physical health an how Ralph acts as a leader. The round character in the story is Ralph. He is the round character because he doesn't really say much to the other characters, meaning he would never criticize another character.

In the book, " Lord of the Flies" so far the conflict is, during the middle of a war a plane carrying young English boys got shot down and and two men named Ralph and Piggy try to find the children to save them because they kids landed in the middle of a jungle. There is a a relationship between the setting and the conflict because since the setting is in the jungle the kids don't know how to find a way out. Yes the culture of the type of story doesnt really play a part with the conflict.
